Play a new role at work.

I approach trainings with creativity, passion and a sense of play, focusing on ways helping professionals can grow in client relatedness, skill building and finding their own creativity and spontaneity. I have extensive experience working with mental health professionals, educators and artists who are interested in looking at their work through a trauma informed lens.

.I will work with you to provide an individualized training plan, wellness plan or implementation of a trauma informed lens to fit the needs of your organization.

Creative Collaborations

The Creative Collaboration model is different from other training programs you may have attended, both in length and the nature of participation. Over a period of six - nine months you will be engaged in an interactive and primarily experiential learning experience. Instead of listening to didactic presentations and watching powerpoints, you and your team will engage in trauma focused therapeutic drama tools and techniques through active participation in creative exercises and dynamic discussion. Of course, I’ll be there to guide you!

Each Creative Collaboration is created and customized just for you and your agency but may include:

*Professional active learning sessions

*Classroom-based/trauma-informed strategies/curriculum review

*Organizational trauma-informed strategies

*Supervision sessions with staff and administration

*Staff Wellness Sessions

*Site visits

*Direct service groups

Day(s) of Professional Learning

Engage your organization in a single or short series of professional learning sessions customized to support your shift to become trauma-informed

Customized workshops for organization's needs such as:

*Trauma and trauma informed systems

*Learning and incorporating trauma-informed creative arts practices into current practices

*Specific patient populations and creative arts therapy techniques

*Group work

*Team building

*Vicarious Trauma

Wellness Sessions

Show your organization that you are committed to their well-being in the work place. Wellness groups help to alleviate the impact of systemic and interpersonal stressors by strengthening social support as well as offer an opportunity to deepen insights into the personal and professional benefits of the work all while adding a little play.

What People Are Saying

“Heidi Landis provided an incredible day of learning and reflection for the Teaching Artists at the New York Philharmonic on Trauma Informed Pedagogy. Ms.Landis is excellent at creating a welcoming learning environment that encouraged our faculty to look closely at how student trauma and our own trauma can influence learning and teaching. Among the things that were really useful about our day long professional development, were the concrete tools that could be used in lesson design and classroom management. As a faculty and office, we all came out of our professional development feeling renewed, educated and validated”.

— Jeannie Oliver-Cretara. Education Manager, New York PhilHarmonic

“Heidi Landis is a skilled, knowledgeable and engaging facilitator. Upon meeting Heidi, I was struck by her warm and genuine personality, and her ability to connect with everyone in the room which immediately creates a safe space for those she works with.. Prior to beginning a theater program serving children living in homeless shelters, I hired Heidi to work with our teaching artists. She was extremely collaborative and supportive throughout the planning process and she paid close attention to our goals and objectives. Heidi ultimately crafted and led thoughtful and informative sessions that prepared our artists to responsibly work with their students. I highly recommend working with her!”.

— Brooke Boertzel, Director of Education (former), New York City Children's Theater

Heidi provides our community members with a level of support that we are not able to offer otherwise. Her drama therapy groups at The Center for Special Needs offer a unique therapeutic and safe environment for our participants that we (and they) truly value. She always brings energy, creativity, humor and respect to her work and our sessions. Heidi also runs trainings for our staff and Social Work interns. She continually impresses us with her understanding of the dynamics of group work. We feel fortunate to have partnered with Heidi We look forward to working with Heidi for many years to come.”
