  • Drama Therapy in Practice Part 2: What’s Your Story?

    Story is the most powerful tool that the therapist has. Story allows us to understand our clients and their experiences through their own words and narratives.

    Through play and drama therapy techniques, this experiential workshop will explore how distance and metaphor can allow a safe exploration of trauma narratives, how story can be used as a container for group process and learn how the use fictional stories can allow deeper reflection into personal stories.

  • Beyond the Rorschach: Projective Techniques and Drama Therapy

    In this experiential workshop, participants will explore the concept of aesthetic distance and projective techniques often used in drama therapy to create safety when working with children and adults especially those who have experienced trauma.

    Projective techniques such as symbol, metaphor, poetry and improvisation will be investigated through trauma-informed drama therapy as ways to help clients experience a safe container for diverse and difficult feelings, experiences and thoughts.

  • Unstick Your Stuck: Psychodrama and The Canon of Creativity

    This highly experiential workshop will explore JL Moreno’s concept of the canon of creativity as a way to keep from getting stuck in old roles and stories. Using psychodramatic and drama therapy techniques, participants will learn skills to help themselves and clients experience flexibility in their stories through play, spontaneity and connecting the mind and body allowing for acknowledgement, recognition and the possibility of stories not yet created.

  • A Future Projection: A trauma -informed Technique

    In this highly experiential workshop, participants will have the opportunity to experience the use of the future projection as a trauma informed intervention exploring interpersonal and intrapsychic ways of working.

    Participants will learn how to scaffold the intervention to allow the protagonist a sense of safety and control. In addition, time will be given to explore how this technique might be integrated into the participants own scope of practice.

  • The Group is the Thing: Creative Techniques for Group Work

    Groups tend to develop in stages and the process is not always neat and tidy. This highly experiential workshop will explore proven creative interventions used in various stages of the group process allowing for the group leader to engage their own creative and spontaneous instincts. In addition, attention will be giving to working with the different and often multiple roles that get played out by group members within a group context. Workshop appropriate for mental health professionals, teachers, teaching artists, life coaches and anyone working with groups.

  • Playing the Unspeakable: Complex Trauma and Creative Techniques

    This didactic and experiential workshop will provide participants with a greater understanding of how traumatic stress impacts childhood development. Participants will gain a definition of complex trauma and an understanding of how trauma performs particularly in the classroom. Participants will learn and experience creative strategies for supporting children to address challenges, promote resilience, and heal from the effects of abuse, neglect and violence. Through case examples and reflection, participants will explore how these concepts can be applied to own clinical, artistic and personal work.

  • Second Saturday Psychodrama- Back in person!

    As a Trainer and Educator of Psychodrama (TEP) I offer psychodrama hours and training to those pursuing certification.

    Second Saturday Psychodrama is an ongoing monthly psychodrama training group. No previous experience necessary, but interview is required. New students are accepted in September of each year.
